There is a lot to be sad about in the world these days. It seems impossible to turn on the television or open a newspaper without being bombarded with unspeakable tragedies, natural disasters, greed and destruction and evil. It’s hard to take, sometimes.
But, no matter how dark it can seem, there are moments of hope that shine through sometimes, and renew your faith that ultimately, we humans as a species can be really pretty great, even if we can also be unspeakable terrible at times too. This video provides one such moment of glorious hope.
Lin Manuel Miranda, the writer of the charming and wonderful musical ‘In The Heights’, recently married his long-time love, Vanessa. And because he is Lin Manuel Miranda, as lovely as he is talented, he didn’t settle for just giving her a ring. Instead, he celebrated their wedding with the following, getting all their friends and family in on the act (look closely and you can spot Chris Jackson, star of ‘In The Heights’, as well as Tommy Kail, it’s Director). Watch it and you will laugh at how brilliant it is, and cry that it’s also so loving and sweet (and that you can’t marry Lin Miranda yourself, which I promise you’ll want to).
